Drill pilot holes for the screws using a drill bit the size of the screws that will be used to install the latch and then install the catch using the screws that came with the kit. Measure for the latch that will be installed on the gate itself. The latch should be positioned higher than the catch to allow the thumb piece to move freely and pop the latch out of the catch when you want to open the gate.
